# Advertising disclosure

CTC Finder is free for truck owners. This page explains how we make money and how that affects what you see.

## How we make money

- **Paid listing plans.** Testers can pay a monthly fee for the Verified, Featured or Featured+ plan. See [plans for testers](/for-testers/).
- **Quote requests.** When you send a [quote request](/get-quotes/), we pass it to up to 3 testers near you. Testers may pay us for receiving requests.

Listing a business is always free, and every CARB-listed tester we can place appears in the directory whether it pays or not.

## How listings are ordered

On city, county and regional pages, listings are shown in this order:

1. **Featured** listings (paid), always marked with a "Featured" label.
2. Businesses with more than one credentialed tester on CARB's list.
3. All other businesses, in alphabetical order.

Filters (Mobile, Smoke opacity, Motorhomes) and "nearby" lists use the tester's own data and distance, not payment.

## What payment does not change

- Payment never changes a tester's services, credential count, address or the "last checked" date. Those come from CARB's public list or from the tester and are shown the same way for everyone.
- Our guides, facts and prices are written independently. Testers cannot pay to be mentioned in a guide or to change what a guide says.
- We do not sell visitor data and do not show third-party ads.
